What We Do
CD Mobile is an outlet for independent musicians and record labels to publish their music in a format for mobile phones and tablets. We take your music CD and publish it to a mobile application that can be used on Android devices, iPhones, iPads and BlackBerry Playbooks. The app is a lot like buying a CD. You can all the music tracks on your device, along with images and liner notes. The artist can also include lyrics if they would like. Some have even chosen to include a steaming video; as long as it pertains to the CD (it must be a song on the CD).
The app is fully contained, except for any extras, like video, meaning that it can all be viewed and listened to without an internet connection.
The CD App is then distributed on Amazon App store, Android Market, Apple App Store and the Blackberry App World.
What Does It Cost?
CD Mobile apps are priced mainly by the number of songs on the CD Mobile app.
Up to 5 Songs: $.99
5 - 11 Songs: $1.99
12 or more: $2.99
Song CD Mobile apps may also contain special features that pertain to the CD, like a streaming video.
Who We Are
CD Mobile is a fledgling subsidiary of CincyPlanet Mobile and Web Development.
We came up for the concept as we were trying to develop new mobile applications. Though I am not a musician, music is a big part of my life. CD Mobile seemed like a great way to not only get some apps to develop and sell, but to help the smaller artists and label get the music out there.
There are some great artists that never get played on the radio and most people will never hear of. My hopes is that this will benefit the artist and the listeners.
What Is CD Mobile?
Put briefly, CD Mobile is a CD wrapped in a mobile application. You do not need a internet connection to listen to the music.
You get all the songs on the CD, Images and liner notes. The songs, however, are contained in the application. While you can play, pause and go to the next or previous track, or select any track you cannot copy them to other devices. This is one reason for the low cost of the full music release.
If you decide you really like the music you will find links to purchase the music for other devices.
Some people think of it as a low cost trial for the music. How many times have you purchased music and found you only like a couple songs. Or heard a snippet of a song only to buy it and find the song changes tempo half way though and your don't like it?

Are you a artist or record label that has some music recorded and is looking for a great outlet? We are here to help!
All it takes to get released on CD Mobile is to have some great songs, a couple photos and some info about the CD.
We try to look at each CD Mobile app like a CD. You have the tracks, liner notes (a few pictures thrown in), contact information and even a link to your website and, if you have it, a link to buy the album.
What will it cost me?
There is no cost to the artist or record label to put out the CD App. We handle the development and distribution. You retain all rights to your songs. We ask only for a non-exclusive digital publishing rights.
Why would an artist or label want to release with you?
Well, besides getting their music out there the artist, or label, receives 40% of all sales of the app. This is better than most publishing methods.
Why 40%?
Well, we are not shy. We will tell you exactly what we make. The market actually gets 30% off the top; this is true for all apps in the above mentioned markets. We also take 30% for development and distribution for the app. The remaining 40% goes back to the label or artist.
